What Is a Keyword Difficulty Score?

Keyword difficulty is a score given between one and ten that indicates the difficulty of a keyword to rank in SERPs.

There are various factors that affect how difficult a keyword is to rank for, but the keyword difficulty is one of the most important.

The higher a keyword’s keyword difficulty, the more difficult it is to rank for. The lower a keyword’s keyword difficulty, the easier it is to rank for.

Keyword difficulty, also known as keyword difficulty index (KDI), is a measurement of the difficulty of making AdWords ad spend decisions. The higher the KDI, the harder it is to make an ad spend decision. The KDI is a number between 0-100. The higher the number, the harder it is to make an ad spend decision.
